The relevance of the issues that gerontology is called to solve is determined by the significant number of elderly and old people both in the modern and in the future world. According to the World Health Organization experts, by 2050 the number of elderly people worldwide will increase and will be 2.1 billion people, which obliges society to develop a present and future strategy of action in the interests of people of older age groups. Elderly and old people, due to age-related changes in their bodies, have physiologically reduced adaptive capabilities, which largely determine the diagnosis, clinical course, and treatment of diseases/pathological conditions. This article focuses on some of the clinical features observed in geriatric patients.
