Liquid biopsy is the analysis of tumor fragments (entire cells, nucleic acids, proteins) in physiological and pathological body liquids. This technology has already been included in standard procedures of detecting secondary mutations, which are associate with acquired drug resistance. Liquid biopsy is a promising tool for early cancer detection, evaluation of the success of radical cancer surgery, monitoring of residual tumor disease, assessment of treatment efficacy etc.
