Aim: Improvement of the results of palliative care of patients with inoperable tumor and radical treatment of I stage
tumor of gastro-intestinal tract and respiratory system because of using intraluminal photodynamic therapy and the usage
of calculated regime of pulse-mode radiation. This radiation has higher antitumor effect compared with the standard
persistent irradiation by reducing photo-induced hypoxia of the tumor tissue.
Materials and Methods: 37 patients were included into the research. They were endoscopic photodynamic therapy
using pulse-periodic regime. The patients were divided into 2 groups: I group – 31 patients with gastro-intestinal tract
tumor, II group – 6 patients with tumor of the respiratory system.
Results: In the I group of people 20 (64.5%) patients – partly regression of tumor was observed, 7 patients (22.6%) –
the tumor process was stabilized, 4 (12.9%) patients – the complete regression of the tumor. In the I group of people 3
(50%) patients – partly regression of tumor was observed, 1 patient (16.7%) – the tumor process was stabilized, 2 (33.3%)
patients – the complete regression of the tumor. In the result of the research can be noticed a high enough antitumor
effect of endoscopic photodynamic therapy using pulse-periodic regime of radiation, singlet oxygen and antitumor effect.
